Liquid Facelift

Want to get rid of those wrinkles around your eyes, but afraid of surgery? Don’t have a lot of time to recuperate but hate those deep lines around your mouth? Never had any cosmetic surgery and just want to get your feet wet? A Liquid Facelift may be right for you.

There are several reasons why we look older with time; environmental damage to the skin, muscle action causing lines, loss of facial volume, loss of skin elasticity and effects of gravity. Some of these reasons for aging can be remedied with non-surgical techniques. When we use multiple injectables to affect different aspects of aging simultaneously, we call it a Liquid Facelift.

The upper half of the face is particularly susceptible to muscle action lines, like the 11’s between the eyebrows, forehead lines, wrinkles on the nose and crow’s feet. Botulinum A products (Botox©, Dysport©, and Xeomin©) relax the muscles that chronically furrow the skin, allowing the skin to smooth out with time. These products can also help with wrinkles in the upper lip and bands in the neck, even helping some of the lower face and neck. Botulinum A lasts for 3 to 5 months.

Loss of facial volume frequently affects the middle of the face; like the “parenthesis” lines around the mouth, and deep grooves under the eye called “tear troughs.”  Loss of lip volume can lead to vertical wrinkles on the lip which can make lipstick run into the lines.  There are products made of naturally occurring substances found in your skin or bones that can be injected to replace lost volume. Radiesse©, made from a protein found in bone, is useful in the deep tissues of the midface. Restylane©, Juvederm©, and Belotero© all made from a protein in skin, are useful for more superficial places. These fillers last 9 months or more.

All of these techniques can be performed together in less than an hour with minimal bruising and swelling.  Think of all you could improve with a simple office visit!
