ThermiTight, The New Minimally Invasive Face and Neck Lift

I have been following radio frequency facial rejuvenation technologies for more than a decade. The idea is very appealing. Apply a radio frequency to the skin to tighten the underlying collagen. Thermage© was the first available such device and got huge media attention on Oprah. The data was disappointing, however. It delivered a good result in only about a third of patients, and you couldn’t tell beforehand which third. And it was painful to undergo.

Over the years the technology has improved, but the same basic problem was in the way; the radio frequency was delivered through the skin. This fact is the wildcard because the skin’s electrical resistance depends on so many factors like salt and water intake, previous treatments, and the like. Along comes ThermiTight©, a new minimally invasive treatment, which has revolutionized radio frequency devices.

ThermiTight avoids the unpredictable result by delivering the energy directly to the collagen using a needle. The treatment is also more comfortable than previous techniques, as it is performed under local anesthesia. Down time is most often limited to three days and is principally related to minor swelling from the anesthetic.

ThermiTight treatments are for people that need more than injectables like Botox and Restylane can deliver, but aren’t ready for a facelift or necklift. The cost is also much less than surgery.  Interestingly, Thermi can also be used to tighten skin all over the body and we have had good results on the abdomen, thighs and arms in addition to the face and neck.
